3/17/11: St. Patrick's Day - Farnung-5 course, 0:54 duration, 10.3 miles, 11.7 mph ave., 62 degrees (wow, in March?!), 780 ft. ascent. Brakes still squealing. Almost wiped out...a dog-walker had his dog on a long leash, extended out across the road. When I came down the hill on a blind-turn (on "mini-Bopple"), I had to lock up my back wheel and just barely missed the dog and kept the bike upright! I better watch that spot, next time. The german-shepherd was very calm as I made my evasive maneuver. I wish I could say the same for myself!
